Guy Mckinley has produced editorial illustrations, conceptual work, character design and more commercial images for promotional and advertising campaigns. Alongside this commercial work he also has his own more personal painting and illustrative work. Its this work that has made up his contributions to gallery shows, or used in live performances. They have also appeared in several publications: Pictoplasma: The Character Encyclopaedia and The Street Art Sketchbook by Tristan Manco. Through this he has maintained both sides, the commercial and the non commercial work, through there is lots of overlap in between; and with clients such as Carhartt, Adidas, New Balance, Sprite (Coca-Cola), Passion Pictures, BBC, Lee Jeans & Walker Books all happy to use his illustrative style to great effect. In conjunction, his personal work has been a part of exhibitions such as those of the Carhartt flagship store, the Dot the Eyes art collective in their third instalment in Copenhagen, Inkthis 3 (UK), The Bad Note (UK), Fight for Flight (LA), Zlik Custom Show (NY). Also in 2008/09 he has two group shows and two solo shows so far The Tick and the Tock of Miss Betty Pea (solo) and Thieves, Dogs and Dead Girls (group) in Manchester (Common & Upperspace respectively) and the last two where in Guernsey with the Partly Beast, Partly Fowl show in the Centre Fold Gallery and Jet-Black and Featherlight in New York gallery My Plastic Heart.
